Project Summary:
GWU and BU assessed current tourism activities in Istanbul’s historic peninsula in order to provide recommendations for improved sustainable tourism management that enhances residents’ quality of life, preserves the region’s authentic fabric while safeguarding the unique historical and cultural assets to elevate the historic peninsula of Istanbul to a world-class destination.
The primary objectives of the project were to:
- Create a common vision to assure the sustainability of Istanbul’s historic peninsula
- Institute ideas that promote sustainable development and conservation on the historic peninsula
