As part of project  “İlçemin, Şehrim İstanbul’un Kültürel Mirasını Öğreniyorum ve Arkadaşlarımla Paylaşıyorum”, 6 stories which mainly focus at cultural heritage within Beşiktaş and Historical Peninsula regions are fictionalized. There are two main reasons why the books were translated into German. First reason is to raise awareness of Turkey’s cultural heritage especially for the children who are native German speakers and visiting or living in Turkey and to contribute to the efforts of promoting Turkey as a destination. Other reason is to provide these books to be used later as authentic education materials for the purpose of German Language education. Besides, it is thought that these books will be useful for creating an environment by which Turkish people living in Germany and their German contacts may share information regarding their own cultures and strengthen their awareness of Turkey’s cultural heritage.
