The seminar will discuss women empowerment in peer-to-peer accommodation by focusing on SDG goal number 5 “Gender equality”. Insights from a mixed-method study of female Aribnb hosts will be presented and implications for practitioners and academics will be discussed.

Speaker Biography:

Fani Efthymiadou holds a Ph.D. degree in Hotel & Tourism Management from the School of Tourism Management, Hospitality and Entrepreneurship of the Cyprus University of Technology. Her research focuses on the sharing economy, women empowerment, and sustainability.
